Labor Leaders School

Ruth Ellinger Labor Leaders School 

A one year training, skills-building and leadership development course managed by the 韦德1946 – in partnership with affiliate unions, local unions and Central Labor Bodies – to help grow and support the next generation of union leaders in Texas. The program is open to union members who live and work in Texas who are nominated by their Local, International, or Central Labor Body.

Each applicant must commit to participating in the school for one year, including 5 weekend/weekday trips for trainings and at-home assignments in between trainings.

Sept. 27-29  - Training #1

Nov. 15-16 - Training #2 

Jan. 25-26 - COPE Convention

Feb. 7-8 - Training #3 

April 17-19 - Training#4/Graduation

Cost & Process

The cost for each student is $750.
This fee covers hotel, food and expenses for speakers. Other costs incurred outside of the $750 may include travel expenses and wages lost.

Applications are due by August 15. After you have accepted, we will do an initial call to welcome you to the program and give details for next steps.
